I just saw the Supergirl movie, and I'm sitting here thinking about how much I have always liked this character. I adored the stories and art featuring her in the 1970s comics, especially those with The Legion of Super-Heroes. I loved her sacrifice to save the universe in Crisis on Infinite Earths, elated when Peter David reintroduced her in the '90s as a fallen angel, and thrilled when they brought her back to her former glory in the early 2000s. Even the TV show eventually won me over, which was adorable. However, I did not like this movie. James Gunn and DC Entertainment missed the mark here. A big summer cinematic disappointment. That being said, I still like Supergirl.
