The HBO TV series “Lanterns” just finished its first season. With its “True Detective” feel combined with the Green Lantern comic mythos, it was not at all what I expected or wanted from the show. That said, it delivered big time. It was supremely well-acted, well-structured, played well with the current DCU that James Gunn is creating, and was brave with strong choices that led into very interesting territory. The takeaway from this is that less sometimes is not just more, but plenty. Kudos to Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler for their knockout performances. I look forward to the next season.
